Environmental Issues On Campus
Food waste management; e-waste; environmentally preferable purchasing; special event recycling—environmental issues on college and university campuses often mirror the challenges faced in the community at large. But many problems and opportunities are unique to the college communities and many of our institutions of higher learning have come up with innovative and inspirational ways to deal with these challenges. Our panel of representatives from NYC-area NYSAR3 College Council members New York University, Columbia University and Bank Street College will discuss common environmental challenges and best practices on their campuses, and we’ll explore ways that the colleges and universities might be able to partner with government agencies, not-for-profits, corporations, and the general public on mutually beneficial environmental programs. We are also inviting representatives from other area colleges and universities and all will have an opportunity to talk about programs and issues on their campuses.
Coffee will be provided; bring your own mug.
