I'm a huge fan of hookah, whether smoking my own pipe at home, or at a traditional Hookah lounge. I thought it would be fun to get a group together and smoke at one of the hookah lounges in the city. If you've ever wanted to try, this is the perfect opportunity! If you're an expert, come teach us more about the interesting world of hookah! There are plenty of spots in the city, but I have not yet tried "Kazuza." It's located in the East Village on Avenue A. Yelpers have given it pretty solid reviews. They have a large menu, so I thought we could do a mid afternoon Sunday smoke and late lunch/early dinner for those who are hungry. For those who aren't, I recommend a tea to help the hookah go down! Most people think of a hookah lounge as only a night time spot, but I assure you that it's a relaxing way to kill a few hours on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I do it often in my neighborhood in Brooklyn... If you're interested, RSVP. I'll go early and grab a table for the group. I will send my cell phone number for those who RSVP yes. NOTE: PLEASE BRING CASH SO IT'S EASY FOR US TO PAY.
Important message from Nicole:
I have organized events/dinners/trips my entire life because I love getting people together so everyone can have a great time. If you do not chip in your FAIR SHARE at the end, it does not go unnoticed and it will ruin the good time. When we go somewhere, we tip and we tip well. Please keep this in mind when you come to meetups that involved drinks or food.
Hi guys - I know this Sunday is the super bowl so if you are NOT planning on coming to this meet up, please change your RSVP accordingly. Don't worry! We'll be done in time for kick off. :) I'll be sending directions out for those attending tomorrow AM!
IMPORTANT CHANGE: The lady who took the reservation made a mistake. They don't open til 4pm! Our group now has a reservation for 4pm and they're only taking cash because they are having problems with their credit card machines. PLEASE notify Ilona if this changes your RSVP. You can still be out of there with plenty of time to make kick-off.
Hi Everyone -
We had a very poor turn out today... only 2 people showed up, and only 1 person texted me to let me know they are not coming. I don't mind organizing events and I understand that things come up, but it would be common courtesy to let us know ahead of time or even during if you're not coming. So for the future I would appreciate f you RSVP yes for a meetup, please change your RSVP before it starts if you can't make it, or text me and let me know you're not coming...
This is very sad to hear. The same happened to me for Karaoke. 10 out of the 20 who RSVPed were no-call, no-shows. We put our time and effort into trying to help you guys enjoy fun events so please don't be disrespectful. If you do this more than once, you will be removed from the group. Sound cold & bitchy? Yeah, so is not showing up.

I have emailed Kazuza to see how many people we can bring on a Sunday afternoon. If they can handle a large group, Ilona and I will increase the RSVP limit. I don't see why we can't just sit on each other's laps :)
