Wandern im Appalachian Trail Harlem Valley

Hallo Freunde,

James Hoegler, Mitglied in der Gruppe und auch Appalachian Mountain Club, wandert am Samstag, 12 Oktober im Harlem Valley. Weitere Details sind unten.

What to bring: Sturdy hiking shoes, comfortable clothes, Lunch and snacks, 3 liters of water und Gute Stimmung.

Sat., October 12  The AT Harlem Valley “Tree Hike”  3C 10miles (Pawling,  NY)

AMC Hike Code 3C: Fun hike for those who want a workout while learning about our forests.  Beavers, boardwalks, farm fields, forests, swamps, meadows and a nuclear lake.  Hiking at a brisk pace, we'll make stops to talk about the trees, including NYS’s Champion White Oak. (The hikes are rated in terms of pace and terrain difficulty.  If you are not sure which hike might be suitable for you, check out the Hike codes http://www.amc-ny.org/hike_codes or contact the Hike leader.)

Take 7:47am Metro-North Harlem Line train to Appalachian Trail Stop, arriving 9:44am.  Meet at parking lot between the rail stop and Route 22.  Rain cancels.  

- Meeting Time/Place: 9:44 am at the hiker parking lot between the railroad stop & NYS Route 22.

- Driving Directions: Appalachian Trail Hiker Parking lot is along the southbound lanes of NYS

  Route 22, about 700 feet south of the Roadside Rest Area; or about 300 feet south of a company

  called Native Landscapes,  991 New York 22, Pawling, NY 12564 

 - Public Transportation: Take 7:48 Metro-North Harlem Line train to Appalachian Trail Stop, arriving 9:41. Meet at parking lot between the rail stop and NYS Route 22. Rain cancels.
