  • 5 to 6 mile walk in the Allamuchy Natural Area of Allamuchy Mountain State Forest, (Hackettstown, NJ)
    A leisurely hike for those who want to enjoy some fresh air and autumn colors. We’ll make stops to enjoy autumn's colors, a pristine lake and who knows - - - possibly a bear or two: and
    Rain cancels hike.
    6PM Dinner afterwards at the Black Forest Inn, Route 206 in neighboring Stanhope, NJ:
    - Meeting Time/Place for HIKE: 12 noon in the 1st parking lot on Deer Park Rd, located about 0.7 miles from its intersection with County Road 517.
    - Driving Directions: Mapquest "County Road 517 & Deer Park Rd, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840". From the intersection take Deer Park Rd and park at the first lot (0.7 miles from County Road 517).
    ---- OR ---- Make your way from NYC to Interstate 80 West towards the Delaware Water Gap. Get off at Exit 19 (County Road 517) and drive 2.3 miles south on 517 to Deer Park Rd. Take a left onto Deer Park Rd and park at the first lot (0.7 miles from County Road 517 intersection)

    - Public Transportation: None I am aware of on weekends.
