What is your level of German Language skill and where did you learn or study the language?

I was a German minor in college and spent one year studying and interning at the local branch of the SPD in Magdeburg. After graduating, my first job was at the German Book Office NY, a nonprofit that promotes the translation of German literature in the U.S. My fluency speaking has definitely declined since returning from Magdeburg in 2007, but my reading and listening abilities have remained fairly high.

Do you agree to come if you RSVP "yes" to our events? (it is perfectly OK RSVP "no" or "maybe" but not OK to say "yes" and not show up. )

I definitely do.

Do you agree to email the organizer privately and directly if you have any grievances about the group or members of the group?

Do you agree to read the Stammtisch rules posted on the message board?

Having just moved back to Brooklyn two week ago, I hope to meet other German speakers in the area. I haven't had a many opportunities to practice my German these past couple of years and would love the chance to brush up (and hopefully improve).
