The movie opens in NY and LA in late June.

Amin Jaafari (Ali Suliman) is an Israeli Palestinian surgeon, fully assimilated into Tel Aviv society. He has a loving wife, an exemplary career, and many Jewish friends. But his picture perfect life is turned upside down when a suicide bombing in a restaurant leaves nineteen dead, and the Israeli police inform him that his wife Sihem (Reymonde Amsellem), who alsodied in the explosion, was responsible. Convinced the official police report is wrong, Amin rejects their accusation but his conviction is shaken when he receives a posthumous letter from Sihem confirming her role in the carnage.
Shattered by the revelation and desperate to understand how he couldhave missed any signs of his wife’s intentions, Amin abandons the relative security of his adopted homeland and enters the Palestinian territories in pursuit of the extremists he believes recruited her.
Once there, he plunges into ever more dangerous places and situations where he is unaccepted. Determined, he presses on seeking answers to questions he never thought he would be asking.
By the end of his journey, Amin is forced to confront a deeper truththan he had ever expected; his inability to see who his wife truly was and his failure to understand the reality that created her.
THE ATTACK is adapted from Yasmina Khadra’s international bestseller of the same name. Originally published in 2005, the novel has been translated into more than 40 languages and has won numerous awards worldwide.

This was a great event and a really interesting movie. The bonuses were hearing the director, Ziad Doueiri -- and the fine munchies afterwards! Seriously, if i had known this was a Lebanese director's film, i might not have gone, thinking it would be very left-wing. For my eyes it was unbiased and thought-provoking. I was impressed with Ziad's commitment and his willingness to overcome obstacles to produce this film, things i would not have known had i seen the film in a theater. I did not even realize that it is against Lebanese law for him to shoot in Israel. I feel so privileged to have been able to attend this event, thank you Linda and Jack.

Not sure if there was a place for members of this group to gather, i sat alone.

The movie was great, all thanks to the integrety of the Lebanese American director, who insisted on honestiy in both the content of the film and the production of the film. He refused to simplify or shy away from the human complexities of the Israeli-Arab conflict and he insisted on producing the movie in it's actual setting with Israeli and Palestinian actors.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
