Team Endurance Race #5 (Raceway Park road course)

Hello kart racers,

We are excited to announce our next endurance race will be held on Raceway Park's road/drifting course! In what promises to be one of our best events ever, we will be trading in the technical confines of the kart track for the high-speed, wide open, elevation changing road course. We will most likely have 4 drivers per team and race for 4 hours with driver changes every 15 minutes (each driver getting one hour track time). Clean driving, teamwork and consistency will be the keys to winning.

Although the race starts at 5pm, we need to be at the track two hours before to register, create teams and practice/qualify.  As usual, we would drive the 9hp endurance karts capable of 45mph.

The price is only $150/driver (normally $200) which includes use of safety gear (may bring your own). All you do is arrive and drive.  Spectators are welcome at no cost.

The top three teams will be awarded trophies and additional prizes may be available. So, don't miss out on this first-time event. RSVP today as seats are limited (many from outside of our group are expected to participate).

Note: I can provide carpooling from Feile bar/restaurant in NYC (131 W 33rd St, btw 6th & 7th Av). Pickup time would be 2pm. You can reach me at[masked]-2018.

Thanks,

Jae

I had alot of fun, it was very competitive every corner was extremely serious. More over we had diverse cultural teams from portugal, Mexico, Brooklyn, New Jersey & the Bronx. Yes it was very bumpy on the turns

Hey guys. This was a really good event and excellent turn out. Also it should not have surprised me that alot of you are car fanatics and watch F1 vs cars that drive around in circles...lol

    Jae,

With enough rest and checking up on my arm, looks like I can make it tomorrow. I just pull a muscle on my right under arm. I RSVP out thinking some one else can RSVP. Sorry for the ins and outs, see you tomorrow. Hope the Kartaton was fun.

    Jae,

Bad news, I got in to a longboarding accident in the city trying to avoid a jay walker on high heels. Sorry for the late notice I hope somebody takes my spot. It's really my lost, If I get better, I might shop by and watch.

    All the best

    Jae,

This is possibly my first time racing with this group, I just reviewed the raceway website. Do we have to preregistar on the website or pay you with cash? There is a huge advertising window for this event on the website, so for sure there will be others at the race besides our group. I never used a cart with a shifter before, but I am excited to practice before the race. I am abit nervous though, I will def. need some pointers and youtube studies.

Christopher, you'll be paying Full Tilt Racing directly (cash or credit but preferably cash). These karts are single speed four-strokes and only max out at 40-45 mph. I'm sure you'll adapt very well.

We will race as long as it's not pouring.

will the track be any challenge or just keep the gas floored the whole time?

If we get bored, can we take our cars on the track? :)

I'm doing the Kartathlon the day before; an endurance race the day after is … unwise.

Could we please switch it to Sat. 9/21? And if we absolutely must do it on Sun. 9/22, would it be possible to get going @ mid-day?

Since I will already be in the city for the F1 meetup, I can provide carpooling from Feile bar (131 W 33rd St, btw 6th & 7th Av) at 2pm.

Has anyone driven an endurance kart on this track before? I wonder if brakes will be used at all with such a wide high speed track. I'm assuming lap times will be monitored?

    September 5, 2013

    • Jae C.

Nope, probably not, and definitely. See you there!
