Endurance Race #3 at OVRP

Hello racers,

For the first time, we will be racing the karts of Englishtown at Oakland Valley Race Park! The two have joined forces to offer us perhaps the best meetup yet. This would be our third endurance race of the season. There would be three drivers per team racing for three hours with driver changes every 20 minutes.  Teamwork and consistency will be the key to winning.

Although the race starts at 12 noon, we need to be at the track one hour before to register, finalize teams and practice/qualify.  As usual, we would drive the 9hp endurance karts capable of 45mph.

The price is only $150/driver (normally $200) which includes use of safety gear (may bring your own). All you do is arrive and drive.  Spectators are welcome at no cost.

The top three teams will be awarded trophies and additional prizes may be available. So, don't miss out on this inaugural event. RSVP today!

Note: Carpooling will be offered at Secaucus Junction train station (pickup area) at 9am (look for silver VW Golf). Those from NYC would have to take the NJ Transit train from Penn Station to Secaucus Junction (one stop).

Excellent, although cart reliability could've been better. Anyways, for the next one, let's maybe go back to NJ the weekend after Labor Day?

Just to be clear, my train gets into Secaucus Junction at exactly 9AM. Will look for the Silver VW golf. Can I have a confirmation someone will be there? :) Excited to go racing!!! Do they accept CC's to pay ? How will the teams be decided?

If you can't put a clean pass on my fat ass, maybe YOU shouldn't be in this group... (or calling ME slow)

Please don't take this comment wrong, but it's based on numerous prior meetups... So if we say 11am, no problem - I'll leave before 9 to make it on time from Long Island. But if things don't get going 'till 12 or 12:30 b/c people are late, etc., then I'd much prefer we set a REALISTIC start time, and spare myself and other folks with long commutes the annoying hurry-up-and-wait routine. Alternatively, let's perhaps consider one of the following: 1) Get going at the scheduled time, PERIOD (like F1, NASCAR and all other forms of racing I can think of), or 2) Add the exact number of minutes that a driver arrives late to their race time as a penalty, unless clear extenuating circumstances exist (i.e., a fiery pile-up on I87).

    See ya on Saturday,

P.S. I know it's already a very long post, but I had a little pissing match at Raceway Park over this one, so I just hope by this time everybody's familiar with FIA's latest ruling on using the full width of the track to defend position.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
