There is much room for innovation and new ways to bring music and fans together. The move towards open APIs has been a boon for creative hackers and developers. However, this community needs more education on how the music business actually works and the legal and business complexities of the rights of content owners.
Right now, working with a company in the interactive lyrics space, currently in stealth mode.

This was my first one, so I don't have a fully formed judgment yet. My biggest concern is that there is already a well-established MusicTech Meetup which meets monthly in Brooklyn (very inconvenient for us Manhattanites), and this could be competing with that one. However, that one is more demo-oriented, and I like the idea that there's a single speaker here. (Also the pizza and beer were much appreciated by all!)
