What experience do you have working with/for nonprofits?

For five years, I developed web applications for event registration and recruitment of under-represented students for Virginia Tech before moving to the University of Virginia and working with a team to redesign and enhance academic department websites. Additionally I've helped and volunteered for an affordable, sustainable housing non-profit in Charlottesville, VA but I've been sadly out of touch with the non-profit sector since moving to New York two years ago.

What is your web/tech experience (ie: developer, designer, social media marketing, product manager)?

I was a designer for 1 to 2 years and then a far better developer for the next 8. As an engineer, I've worked extensively with Scala, JavaScript, Rails, and other technologies and prefer architectural challenges mixed with a meaningful product and mission. Despite my switchover from designer to engineer, I believe I can still spot bad kerning.

Would you be interested in doing a demo/presentation for the group?

Not initially but open to the idea as my own projects may become relevant to the group.

While I don't currently work for a non-profit, the majority of my career was spent working for public universities as a web developer to assist fundraising and recruiting a diverse student body.
