2nd Annual Earth Day Celebration and Children's Garden Fair

WHAT: A family-friendly day of entertainment, activities, food and giveaways. A celebration of Spring, Compost, and the Magic of turning ''waste" into a resource.

COST: Free!


The centerpiece of the celebration is two performances of "The Adventures of Pistachio: a Brooklyn Girl made from Trash" a musical play for children 3-8 years old. In it, our hero Pistachio and a colorful cast of characters save the world from waste and villain 'useless' garbage, by turning it into compost and crafts. *Performances at 11 AM and 1 PM.





Schedule for the Day

10- 11 AM will be food scrap drop-off to benefit Imani Garden II and to jumpstart new compost heaps in refurbished compost bins. *Please bring your veggie cuttings and vegetarian food scraps!* (all other activities take place in Imani I)

11AM -12 PM - Performance of Pistachio

12 - 1 PM - Fun kids' activities like planting seeds, seed art, and Guess that Seed! Give-aways from Happy Family Brands and Je M'aime natural soap.

1 - 2 PM - Performance of Pistachio

2 - 3 PM - Fun kids' activities like planting seeds, seed art, and Guess that Seed! Give-aways from Happy Family Brands and Je M'aime natural soap.


[Note for Teachers! - Come see the play and meet the cast and the creator of Pistachio and the award-winning Pistachio Curriculum, Emmy Gay. Ms. Gay is a PDC graduate, the director of a preschool and a current Legacy Leader Fellow of of the National Association for the Education of Young Children -- and is eager to share the Pistachio curriculum with you or to bring the play to your school or garden!]

    I wanted to attend, but got the error, "You can only bring 2 guests." when trying to rsvp "yes" and include my family.
