Succulents are one of the largest groups of plants grown by indoor gardeners. Although they may need more light than tropicals, their great variety of form and color make them exotic, beautiful and very desirable. Susan Amoy has grown succulents and ornamental plants for over thirty years, specializing in traditional and succulent bonsai. She has conducted workshops for numerous botanical gardens and plant societies and contributed to the BBG guide “Crazy about Cacti and Succulents”. This month Susan will give us a through introduction to these strange and beautiful plants, showing us how to grow spectacular specimens in different environments (like apartments). She will also have a select group of plants for sale. Bring in your succulents for show-and tell.

IGS is a great way to introduce adults and children to the importance of green plants. The more you know about botany and growing things, the more you understand their impact on every aspect of your life and their importance to human survival. They can beautify your home and
freshen the air in it. They are strongly linked to many aspects of human history and development. They will heighten your appreciation of the outdoors and bring it inside for you to enjoy year-round. At each of our monthly meetings members will enjoy:
-a lecture about a horticulturally-related topic
-a plant sale making rare and unusual plants available at reasonable prices
-an exhibition of spectacular specimens often unknown to people outside the plant hobbyist world and often unseen at botanical gardens.
-access to supplies and information that can turn anyone from a novice to a successful grower

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
