Siempre Verde Garden Spring Opening

The Siempre Verde Community Garden (SVG) will be celebrating the opening of its first growing season on Mother’s Day week end with a program of family activities, including:

● Yoga - Bring your own mat (childcare provided) - 2pm
● Storytelling and songs for kids of all ages - 2pm
● Treasure hunts and face painting
● Seedling sales and community planting
● Free food and drinks

The Lower East Side’s newest Community Garden, SVG was started by residents in early 2013 with a desire to protect local green spaces and create a place for the community to connect. The 2014 opening Saturday will give LES residents a taste of what’s to come this growing season, including regular garden open hours and events focused on sustainable living and educational opportunities.
