** We have moved this month's meetup to La Plaza Cultural's Community Garden gazebo.. The garden is located in NYC's East Village at the SW corner of Ave C and 9th St.

Join us at La Plaza Community Garden on September 2nd from 7pm- 9pm.  We will be making art and banners for the "3rd Annual Permaculture Festival" (9/20) and the "Peoples Climate March" (9/21). Feel free to bring a dish, snack or art supplies to share. We will be discussing various topics related to permaculture while we create!"

Looking forward to recaps from Kelly's recent trip to the North American Permaculture Convergence and if time permits we can tour La Plaza's fruit and nut orchard, compost systems and hugel beds.

This meetup is held the first Tuesday of each month and has two purposes.

First, it serves as a general networking opportunity for Permies in the area to meet each other and to provide mutual aid. What are you working on and where? What kind of collaborators and skills sets do you want to add to your team? Do you have an idea that you'd like to share just for feedback and exploration?

Second, this is an information session to increase knowledge about the numerous ways that permaculture can be applied in the world, from gardening/farming practices and land stewardship, to regenerative economic systems, community building, and nature connection.

*A $5 donation will be optional for our meetups. Proceeds help sponsor PDC students, establish and maintain demonstration sites, purchase land for a land trust network, and other sustainable culture educational projects in the Northeast. The PayPal link sends a donation to Green Phoenix Permaculture, a 501c3 organization.*

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
