I'm one of the organizers of Green New Yorkers Meetup group http://www.meetup...
Reading about Permaculture on the Meetup sites kindled my interest.
Took Claudia Joseph's UPAT course in 2012. http://www.meetup.com/GreenNewYorkers/events/57879082/ Would like to complete the PDC.
I feel I belong to an urban "virtual" Ecovillage. http://www.meetup.com/GreenNewYorkers/messages/boards/thread/19231322 A current project is to redesign my own yard into a garden farm.
I'm reading Peter Bane's Permaculture Handbook.
I wish I could be surrounded by Permaculture practicing neighbors. My current neighbors are very traditional thinkers. Anyone want to move to my neighborhood (Flushing Queens)?
Hi Helen, I'd love to do something with the Brooklyn Grange Farm LIC. Any ideas and a day?
Hi there! I Just saw this message! I am new to meetup and I am still getting settled here in astoria! But I'm certainly looking for volunteer/fun meet up opportunities!
Hi Im sorry I was out of the country during the time the parade was. Thank you for the invitation though.
Hi Helen, Great work on the gallery! Thanks for posting :)
Hi! Thanks for your message, I see the photos. Very cool stuff. Looking forward to the next meet-up. Thank you, DUNCAN
Dear Helen, On behalf of NYCbeekeeping.org I'd like to thank you for your generous gift. We are so grateful for this gesture of support from a sister group! Sincerely, Liane
Thanks for commenting on my page, Helen. Yes, making my own body products is most definitely a healthier alternative. I use high grade organic ingredients and highest quality essential oils. My next endeavor will be to make my own soap. Honesty, I have fun doing it all. I hope to see you at a meet-up soon. : )
Looks like this is going to be a great group! Thanks for the info about the compost workshops. The one you posted from the NYC website is actually way uptown in Harlem. The next Queens Botanical Garden workshop is May 3rd so I will most likely attend that workshop. After I will definitely contact you about worms! So excited! Heads up for Earth Day celebrations Queens Botanical Garden is doing a volunteer day and march to the Unisphere on the 23rd to celebrate.
Thank you for your message regarding my treadle pump project! Early in the project, we considered biodrainage and crop rotation, but we set those aside because our background is in mechanical engineering and not agricultural engineering. I am very interested in hearing more. Please email me at [masked].
