How did you become interested in permaculture?

I am interested in taking another PDC course and offering another course at our Ashram.

If you have taken a Permaculture Design Course, who was your was your teacher and what year did you receive your certification?

We are applying some permaculture designs to our garden. We have plans for solar heating and hot water; a grey water system; etc. We have done workshops with Julia and Charles Yelton and PDC with Toby Hemenway and Larry Santoyo.

How are you currently applying the permaculture principles in your life? (Care of people and the earth, fair distribution of surplus, promotion of diversity, cooperation, integration, zero waste, etc.:

Yes! I am part of a Yoga Peace community and want to create an ecovillage around it. Looking for people who love nature, gardening, green building and Yoga to help make it happen.

What are some of your favorite permaculture resources? (Books, videos, websites, etc.)

Sponsoring interns to be part of the Yoga Ranch gardens and help realize the our Permaculture goals. We hope to host Green Phoenix permaculture courses and workshops.

What are some aspects of life in New York that you would like to see the group address from a permaculture perspective? (For example: land use patterns, the banking and healthcare systems, transportation, housing, community development, food, waste

Yes, I was certified at the August 16 - 29, 2008 PDC course here at the Yoga Ranch with Toby Hemenway and Larry Santoyo, sponsored by Green Phoenix.


Hello Everyone! I live in a Yoga Ashram, 77 acres of sacred land in the Catskills about 100 miles from NY City with an working organic garden and green house for the past 25 years. We want to become more sustainable.
