How did you become interested in permaculture?

Yes. It's a definitely goal I plan to accomplish within the next year.

If you have taken a Permaculture Design Course, who was your was your teacher and what year did you receive your certification?

I have family property of twenty acres in the Appalachian foothills of Southeastern Ohio that I plan work into a food forest and healing retreat in the distant future. Here in the city, I potentially have access to sizable industrial rooftop in sunset park.

How are you currently applying the permaculture principles in your life? (Care of people and the earth, fair distribution of surplus, promotion of diversity, cooperation, integration, zero waste, etc.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permaculture)

I am not currently living in or organizing an ecovillage. Regardless, I certainly have interest in living in such a community or establishing one in the future.

What are some of your favorite permaculture resources? (Books, videos, websites, etc.)

I have much to learn concerning invisible structures. Until now I have been hiding away in the woods of Ohio dealing only with the visible structures of my immediate environment. One hope in moving to New York is to gain knowledge and experience in the true workings and effects of invisible structures.

What are some aspects of life in New York that you would like to see the group address from a permaculture perspective? (For example: land use patterns, the banking and healthcare systems, transportation, housing, community development, food, waste

I have had one fifteen hour permaculture class through my degree but have yet to receive a PDC certification.

Introduction

I just moved back NYC from the Appalachian foothills! My goal in moving here is to gain hands on experience in learning and teaching as much as possible about farming, permaculture, and sustainable development in the ultimate urban setting.
