Get Dirty NYC! is a newly
formed non profit whose mission is to connect New Yorkers to gardening
and farming opportunities around the city. To do so, we are creating a
social online medium for interested volunteers to virtually connect with
city farm and garden organizations. We hope to have the site up and running by Spring 2011.
We are looking for the following staff volunteers:
1) Brand, Web and Logo Designer: to work with our website developer and team on branding and design of the Get Dirty NYC! website.
2) Volunteer Resident Farmer: to function as the main
adviser on gardening and urban agriculture to the staff at Get Dirty
NYC!, providing advice on seasonal horticulture matters. Represent and promote Get
Dirty NYC! at events, meetings, and workshops. Assist Get Dirty
NYC! team in enhancing and developing program. Must possess an excellent
understanding of horticulture, gardening, and sustainable agriculture.
3) Grant Writer: to locate and apply for grants for Get Dirty NYC!
Volunteers must have
a demonstrated interest in urban farming,
community gardening and creating a greener NYC. Please get in touch with Gigi at [address removed] if you are interested in helping out in any of these ways. Check out our Facebook page for more info.
