This is a letter of invitation from Margaret Rose de Cruz and Dan Kaminsky.
We are writing to you because we want to start a Transition Initiative in Brooklyn, beginning in the Park Slope/ Windsor Terrace area, and we thought you might be interested in helping to create it.
The Transition Town Movement is a model that has inspired both of us because of its practical, heart and soul approach for helping neighbors become communities to meet their own needs & challenges with fun and creativity. TTowns seek to meet the three challenges of Peak Oil, Climate Change and Economic recession by building localized, stronger and more resilient communities.
We highly recommend looking on the Transition Town website to learn more about it.
The "about us" tab gives a good introduction to the generalities of what a Transition Town is. The "Transition 101" tab gives a nice idea about some of the concepts behind Transition Towns as well the beginning steps in starting one.
We will be meeting at Margaret's home at 400A Prospect Ave, btw 7th & 8th Ave, 11215 on Sunday Jan. 22nd from 5 pm to 8pm to discuss more about the Transition concept and what setting up a South Brooklyn Transition would entail.
Please forward this email or bring along anyone else who may be interested in exploring these ideas. Light food will be provided since it is dinner time...&...vodka (just kidding) ...LOL whatever will get u here!
Please RSVP to this email.
