Hi All,
It's been a while! Thank you! all for your support to make our last collaboration with Larry Santoyo a huge success. We are honored and humbled by your efforts and words of encouragement. Thank you for granting our wish of bringing Larry to NYC and making our NYC Urban Permaculture Test Site a reality,a breeding ground for new ideas and innovative design.

Today, we may be small, like a single raindrop;but as each raindrop merges with other raindrops, we can create water that can break boulders.

Since the last we met, we have successfully added a second Brooklyn location. We have also brought onboard Ms Lara Meiland Shaw, who will serve as our art and cutural director.Lara Meiland-Shaw grew up in Denmark and New York City where she developed a strong appreciation for the cultures of both Europe and the United States. She currently lives in Soho with her husband, Claude Shaw, with whom she has traveled extensively throughout both Asia, Europe and South America. They are expecting their first child this fall. She is actively involved in several New York-based charities, including the New York Botanical Gardens, and she serves on the Executive Committee for the Notables at Carnegie Hall. She has a background in fashion and is involved in several environmentally-focused ventures. Ms. Meiland-Shaw attended Yale college, where she received a Bachelors of Arts degree in English, and Columbia University?s Graduate School of Business, where she received a Masters in Business Administration.
Lara will give strength to help us navigate the labyrinth of social networks and making those critical connections to help us create a dynamic guild.

Larry Santoyo will be back this September for 2 back to back week end workshops. We invite you to join us.If you have RSVP and not yet registered, please email us at:

The question is not whether we want to do this but whether the people will support our efforts. Hopefully we're here to stay and work long term. It's a greedy hope perhaps? lol . Thank you so much for making this possible. We will do our best not to disappoint and live up to your expectations of bringing good quality permaculture workshops to NYC. Please continue to support us.

In this workshop we will be turning our art farm here in Brooklyn into an urban permaculture test site and think tank in real time. We will be applying permaculture design principles to food, water, energy systems as well as community and integrate them relative to our environment here or any densely populated areas.
This workshop is suitable for artists, activists, city gardeners as well as anyone interested in permaculture but have a hard time finding time and space, a precious resource here in NYC.
We will learn how to turn any urban backyard into a food forest, water harvest, solar energy and learn how to container garden in any urban setting. Most important, you will walk away with very useful life skills to apply to any material or non material needs and will provide real insight if you are planning to start an intentional community of your own.

"The future of sustainability is in our cities and towns.Urban neighborhoods are ideal for the promise and potentials of permaculture design. Our cities embody the greatest concentration of the social, intellectual and physical resources needed to create a sustainable future" Larry Santoyo

The schedule is as follows:
Sat 10am to 4/5pm with lunch break with intro to urban permaculture
Sun 10am to 4/5pm with lunch break

$125 for the weekend
We gently ask that you RSVP and registration is not complete until full tuition is received.

This workshop will feature a heavy design component, analytical and strategic application to adapt and survive the 5 boroughs and beyond.
"NYC I saw:art on a stick,a park on a rail, the sunset in the street, ground zero on memorial day and LOve amongst the urgency of urbanism" Larry Santoyo
In this ever evolving, dynamic and seemingly unrelated landscape of NYC,we will be discussing pattern recognition, the ability to identify and recognize the inner workings of a system, inherent strengths and weaknesses, missing elements and resources, all fundamental for good permaculture designers.
From there, we will align the order of relationships and start exploring natural succession theories and applications, appropriate techniques and technologies for the individual or collective. We will develop a blue print theory of a fundamental working model of interconnecting systems through progressive thinking and innovative design.
The workshop will end with a practical round table ,Larry Santoyo's "Permaculture Economic Stimulus Plan".In a city of increasing demand and diminished resources, we will discuss currency and exchange in permaculture, worth and responsibility, opportunity and wealth using a whole systems approach to create the conditions for economic sustainability to happen in your own backyard, the city that never sleeps....we invite you to be a part of it,New York!
Join us and Larry to take it from the top down, from Revolution to Renaissance.

Cost:$165, returning students receive a preferential rate. We gently request you RSVP and registration is not complete until tuition is received in full.
