Hello fellow permies!
I meant to second this announcemet of permaculture in the virgin islands a while ago, but time got away from me. It is not too late to sign up (I know, I was just talking to them about signing up myself). For what it's worth, I give my enthusiastic recommendation of their programs. I spent 3 months on creque dam farm last winter and took a week-long intro to permaculture lesson with Ben Jones. It was amazing and eye-opening. Beyond being the only certified organic farm in the Caribbean, it is a functioning educational center for both locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere is warm and inviting (so is the weather) and the food is exceptional. They are working very hard to create an environment that is entirely sustainable and more importantly, beneficial.
If you have any questions about their program, feel free to contact me! I hope you take a look at the PDC they are offering down there and maybe I'll see you there!

Escape the gray cold of New York in November and come join us in St. Croix at Creque Dam Farm, home of the Virgin Island Sustainable Farm Institute for a Permaculture Design Course with incredible teachers from New England, Georgia, and the Caribbean. Visit the following link for more information.
