ADVANCED DESIGN: ECOLOGICAL DESIGN AS SPIRITUAL PRACTICE at Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch, Woodbourne, NY / OCT 16 - 25
In this 10-day design intensive, students will dive into a hands-on
ecological design project, guided by leading permaculture teacher,
ecological designer and author Dave Jacke. Learning in a "studio-team"
context, students will address REAL challenges using real site and
client data, and generate a Master Plan integrating food
production/preservation/distribution systems, buildings and energy,
water and wastewater, and socio-economic sustainability for the 'client
site' -- a 77-acre yoga
ashram community. Students may also deepen their understanding of the
design process by engaging in daily yoga and meditation practice,
individual and group reflection. Open to graduates of Permaculture
Design Certification courses, people with 1-2 years of related design
experiences, or others with pending phone interview. Program includes
world-recognized instruction in classical yoga. See the full Course Description.
