PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE

With Kay Cafasso, Ethan Roland, Rafter Sass, Andrew and Shenaqua Jones.
New Students beginning Nov. 7, 8. We are accepting a limited number of new students beginning Nov. 7,8. Our first session was Oct. 10,11 and we had a wonderful, inspiring weekend. Several students were not able to attend and we have some additional spaces. We have arranged some makeup time for incoming students: Required for certification: Friday afternoon, Nov. 6 with Kay Cafasso, required evening sessions during course, recommended participation in Work Weekend, Oct 31-Nov 1. WORK WEEKEND AT EPWORTH:  Oct 31-Nov 1, Halloween weekend.
Activities:
Have tour of permaculture projects and straw bale house, prepare garden beds for winter, give tlc to the forest gardens, have fun and community.
Accommodations:
Heated bunk lodge with kitchen and living room. No charge, but small donations gratefully accepted towards cleaning the building.
Arrival and Transportation:
People can arrive Friday evening, Oct 30 or Sat morning, Oct 31. There is a Halloween party for the Food Coop in Stone Ridge on Fri evening and we can go together after you arrive if you want.
I can send driving directions and list of things to bring. Public Transportation: From NYC,  Adirondack Trailways from Port Authority to Rosendale, time: 1 hr., 50 min. If you arrange in advance, we can pick you up in Rosendale.
Food: Vegetarian soup, bread [some gluten free] and fruit for Friday arrivals. Breakfasts provided. Potluck: for Saturday lunch, Saturday evening and Sunday lunch.

CHILDREN IN NATURE---CHILDREN'S NATURALIST IMMERSION: Experienced Waldorf trained teacher, who has led nature awareness programs for children at Vermont Art of Mentoring and Red Fox Friends, Krista Oarcea, with assistants and mentors. Children ages 7-12 Spend the day in nature, learning, exploring, building and connecting with life in the fields and forests.
DATES: Same weekends as the permaculture course: Nov 7-8, Dec 12-13, 2010: Jan 23-24, Mar 13-14, Apr 10-11, Saturdays open to the local community, Sunday for children traveling with parents taking the permaculture course and residing at Epworth.
COST: Sliding Scale: $200-$375 for 5 weeks / equivalent to $40-$75/day. Honor system.
