it was great getting out to CP even though I lost the group very early. I got involved with the pursuit of the shoot. I am now getting around to posting some of the photos. Been busy with freelance work. I'm a journalist. xoxo

Hi group, I'm currently working on a book about Living on Fifth Avenue and am looking for a photographer who can shoot 20-30 photos of buildings, sidewalks, trees and people along Fifth Avenue and Central Park while the trees are still turning, so sometime during the next week. Since you all just did the Central Park Foliage photo tour, I am hoping someone from this group would be interested? A little more background, I do marketing for the Deanna Kory Team, a real estate team here in NYC. We've done books on Living on Central Park West, Riverside Drive and Park Avenue in the past, you can learn more about them on our website deannakory.com. Ideally am hoping to find someone to shoot this weekend. If interested please contact me at [masked] with a little bit about yourself and a link to your photographic portfolio. Thanks.

Hi Dave, I found someone for the shoot but I'd still love to see your photos. The leaves are turning quickly and we may not have any left at all with all the wind the past couple days. Will contact you via email.

Hi group, I found someone for this shoot but thanks to everyone for replying!

Enjoyed myself this past Sunday and I'm impressed with the photos posted thus far. The Organizer was very fair in waiting for latecomers before departing and was fair in waiting at points of interest for those who lagged behind (I lost the group twice, but caught up twice). Exploring the North Woods, Harlem Meer and the Conservatory Gardens was a new experience for me. The group itself was enthusiastic, kept on shooting throughout the afternoon and all members were considerate of others. I would return for a similar meetup.

I soon lost the group beyond The Pool but ended up with three other great people - Ghionul ("G"), Liz and of course our de facto guide and freelance photographer Jennifer Tarin who was very knowledgeable about the park. We headed north to the Haarlem Meer and then headed south which was much more photographically interesting. We went through the Conservatory Garden ("The Secret Garden" sculpture) passed The North Meadow and then after a brief halt for lunch passed The Reservoir and then Shakespeare Garden and Belvedere Castle. We climbed up into the castle turret for some great shots of the Turtle Pond and beyond. Passed The Swedish Cottage and then through The Ramble besides The Lake where the "golden hour" provided some glorious shots of the golden foliage against the sun. Then across the Bow Bridge to our final destination - the iconic Bethesda Fountain and Terrace. After five hours of walking we exited the park through The Mall to Columbus Circle. We had a grand time. Thanks all.

I hate to add another comment after the barrage of people who didn't arrive anywhere near on time and expected to be accommodated anyway, but have to thank those who did arrive on or reasonably near the agreed on time for a wonderful afternoon! It was great fun to see what subjects/angles other photographers found when we were all together shooting the same things. And looking through the magnificent posted pictures just now -- seeing what someone else did with the exact same subject matter, lighting conditions, et al. -- was both a delight and an education all by itself! Thanks again to all who shared the day with me...

Transit delays and a halloween weekend made it a bit tough for some, I was about 30min late. I did manage to catch up with a decent sized group but we eventually just did our own thing. I'm sure many of us broke into smaller groups which makes sense. I had a good time :)

  • Anne

Is the group still touring the park? Thank you.

    October 27, 2013

Lots if cancellations. I myself can't go. About a planned route, they weren't too clear about which way they would go. I'm sure they'll wait tool 1230 before heading out. You can't miss them. The hard part is knowing if they went left, right, or straight in lol.

I am bringing my Pentax K-r, SMC Pentax DA 18-55, SMC Pentax DA 50-200. I am not bringing any primes. In these photo walks I do not get enough time to change lenses.

What is everyone bringing so I have an idea if I am over prepared! Lol. Zooms covering 24 thru 200? Just a couple of primes?

    1 · October 23, 2013

    • Rusty G.

I did this walk last year, the zoom will work good unless you are looking for some specific shot. There is some walking and you don't want to be to weighed down. It will be a great time you will enjoy it
