I don't have too much experienced (it's kinda relative, isn't it?) it took my about 1.5 - 2 years to be able to get projects DONE.

Experienced people know what it means to have someone who is able to drive a project to completion - which goes beyond the ability to write good code.

Judging by the number of projects that I have been involved with that had to be picked up from previous developers who abandoned them, you are not alone - most people do not see the hidden costs of hiring cheap.

I didn't see the guy's resume, but neither did you guys and I just found it odd enough to be worth commenting on, that you all would be amazed by that salary range.

I am glad you are "happy" with what you are getting, but don't underestimate your worth.  I have seen too many developers ridiculously undercompensated because they allow it to happen.

So as for salary... I'm not getting quite what he's asking for, but I'm happy with what I *am* getting.

Challenge?  Definitely.  We write many different types of sites for many different needs.  Again, I'm very pleased with the quality of the tasks I am given.

Environment?  Totally.  Fairly flexible hours, wide open space where all the developers have total access to eachother, and internet that is not blocked in any way.

All in all, I would like to be paid better, but I wouldn't trade this job for a 10 or 15% salary hike.  maybe 20, but I'm morally obligated to these guys until at least thanksgiving... so not before then :-)

Jason,

I agree, you really do get what you pay for... Not only that you would get better professionals, they would also give everything they have if they are happy.

What usually makes people happy is salary, challenge (who would want to be bored at work?) and work environment.

Thank you,
Sam IT

Just my 2 cents ;)

Sam,
Lol!  The guy sitting in the desk next to me is actually doing that right now :-)
In hebrew we have a very apt expression; The shoemaker usually walks barefoot.
We've just been swamped with work for so long that we haven't had a chance to update it.
The last person to actually touch the code was me... roughly 5 years ago.
Thanks for the constructive criticism!

Leroy,

Tell your boss your website needs a redesign ASAP (no offense).

Thank you,

I'll have a look.
I work for Avatar New York (www.avatarnewyork.com)
We aren't actively seeking a developer right now, but we may need one in the relatively near future.
His compensation is probably a little high as well, but it doesn't hurt to check anyway right?

Thanks,
Leroy

I have a senior-level PHP/MySQL Developer actively seeking a full time
opportunity in the[masked]k salary range. If you would like to see the

Thank you,
Beau Gould
