Teach beginners how to program in Python

This will be a regularly scheduled Meetup on the last Thursday of every month. You'll be welcome to create and/or take Python lessons.

At Codecademy, we believe that everyone should have the ability to learn to code. Our platform allows anyone to create free lessons to teach millions of beginners various programming languages.

This meetup is targeted to members that are interested in sharing their Python knowledge with beginners through our lesson creation tool. We'll build a fun and simple lesson and start a discussion on techniques for explaining complex concepts to beginners.

Food and drinks will be served. The Codecademy staff can't wait to meet all of you.

Tentative Schedule:

6:30pm: Food and refreshments

7:00pm: Introduction to Codecademy and Course Creation

7:15pm: Workshop (Python lessons and Course creation)

7:45pm: Recap discussion

8:00pm: Conclusion

I'm new and am slowly using Codecademy to learn bits and pieces, but am wandering if we can do this beginners-type event again? Or does the monthly meetup do a similar thing? Please enlighten me.

Thanks, Joel. It looks like I'm working late tonight and will be unable to attend. So disappointed.

Great question, Joshua. I intended to message everyone today suggesting that they bring their laptop. During the workshop portion of the evening, you can work from your own machine or share with a buddy.
