[JOB] Python Developer for FinTech startup

Cashpath Financial aims to change the way you think about banking. We believe that banking is broken and is not designed to make our lives easier. To fix it takes more than better checking accounts or better bill pay. It will need more than social media. Banking needs to return to an age of duty where bankers are the stewards of your money and help you manage your money. It's about directing your finances so money goes where you want it to go (instead of to overdrafts). It's about shepherding your money to smooth your cash flow and eliminate uncertainty. Our banking experience gives you a software-based personal banker that understands your needs and guides you to financial success. Under the hood we leverage the best of Computational Finance and Wall Street technology to create a personalized digital banker designed to better the lives of retail banking customers.

Making this a reality involves a significant server-side infrastructure. We are looking for Pythonistas to build out our server infrastructure that connects to various data services and our computational engines running in R. We have lots of data, so you need to be comfortable with data pipelines and managing data as sets. Please don't insist that each row should have an ORM. As a financial technology company, we live and die with data security. You should have an opinion.

Ideally you:

. Have an engineering or comparable degree/experience

. Know asynchronous Python

. Know bash, awk, sed, unix concepts

. Know some Java

. Understand functional programming beyond map-reduce

. Understand web application architectures and back-end server architectures

. Have experience with message queues and buses (e.g. RabbitMQ)

. Have experience with NoSQL data stores (e.g. Redis)

. Have the three virtues of programming

. Have a personality
