I definitely suggest buying PyCharm if your devs are not emacs/vim gurus.

Not only can you get a free trial of PyCharms, they also have a free community edition:

So, I've been asked to buy PyCharms for a dev that works with me on a
Django project, but he has never used it, and was just going on the
recommendation of a single other developer that likes it.

I have asked another dev, whom I trust that does Django development,
and he said to use EMACS.

Clearly, there are a wide variety of opinions, that spans the rich
ecosystem of development tool choices available to Python developers
today.

I tried to do a bit of research, and it seems that the field of Python
IDEs is massive as evidenced by
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/81584/what-ide-to-use-for-python
and
https://wiki.python.org/moin/IntegratedDevelopmentEnvironments

Any thoughts or recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian
