Apologies to anyone who has seen this note in other Ruby meetups... I assume there's some overlap, but not sure how much.
I'm running an event on Wednesday night--or rather, I setup an event that five great technologists from a vetted group of startups are going to run.
Who: Tech leads from cool NYC startups like Shopkeep, Rent the Runway (who uses Sinatra, not Rails), Birchbox, Paperless Post, and Rapgenius talking about their stack, their team, some hacks and some challenges that they're facing.
When: This Wednesday night at 7PM sharp at Projective Space, 72 Allen Street.
For who: Developers only. We're serious. Business co-founders looking to pitch the devs in the audience are going to get summarily removed from the list and dragged through the streets behind a Williamsburg fixie.
Why: Too many awesome people work for cruddy startups, banks, and agencies-- so we wanted to highlight interesting startups doing interesting stuff with talks from the professionals who lead various teams. When we did our iOS meetup, it was only for iOS devs and we had the lead mobile devs talking about their stack and how their teams are setup. When we did design, it was only designers in the room and we had lead designers from Kickstarter, Branch, HowAboutWe and Kitchensurfing.
We regularly get[masked] developers in attendance, so RSVP ASAP: http://stackuptalks.com/dev/
