#4) CEO (Cheif Executive Officer) for Heavy-Duty Engines Company:
My new client
is a very early-stage startup, and has developed some exciting technological
design innovations and improvements for large engines (i.e. diesel engines
for trucks, and boats 200 horsepower to 1000+ horsepower) which have been demonstrated
to reduce fuel-consumption of heavy-duty diesel engines by 10%, as well as to
meet the stringent 2010 EPA NOX emissions requirements without
after-treatment. This technology could save as much as 3.3 billion
gallons of diesel fuel per year, worth about $13 billion per year, currently,
which translates to approximately $8000 per year per truck. Their
business model/plan will call for revenues to be accrued through licensing of
this improved technology to engine OEMs, and through royalties charged per unit
built.
My client seeks a CEO
from the heavy-duty engines industry with strong connections to overseas and
domestic OEMs (e.g. Caterpillar, Cummins, Volvo, MTU, Mitsubishi Heavy
Equipment, Isuzu etc.) who will be instrumental in securing their first
major objective: significant venture-capital funding. The ideal candidate
will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, as well as an even
stronger grasp and track-record of successful accomplishments in the heavy-duty
engine business. He or she needs to have both good connections to large
OEMs (especially overseas, in countries like Germany and Japan) as well as a
high comfort-level in a small company environment. This is a very
hands-on job, identifying sources of financing as well as potential clients,
and will require flexibility and versatility, and the ability to "wear
many hats". The successful candidate needs to have excellent
presentation skills and solid business acumen, as well as strong selling
and persuasive skills. This is a position for a deal-maker/rain-maker who
is a veteran of the diesel engine business and wants to embark on
something bold and innovative, with potential risk.
The company has
raised approximately $2MM thus far, and is seeking an additional $2.5MM to be used for beta
testing of the technology at SWRI (Southwest Research Institute) or another
reliable engine laboratory. Procuring this funding would be the first
major objective for the CEO. Until such time as funding is achieved, the
CEO will need to be able to work for stock-options, and not require immediate
cash income from his/her participation and leadership. This is clearly a
high-risk venture, with potential high rewards, not for the faint-of-heart or
those who are too restricted by finances to work without cash salary.
IF you are interested in any of these outstanding opportunities, please submit a resume with cover letter. And, if you or your company is actively seeking to hire key or hard-to-find people in any technical field, please alert me.
Thank you,
Nicholas Meyler
