ad-Hoc RSVP Policy

In our effort to fulfill the demand for attendance and still maintain meaningful participatory group discussions we have increased our meetup frequency rather then increasing the RSVP limit. This has for the most part worked with one unfortunate flaw : first come first serve RSVPs alienate members who do not act within the first few hours of a meetup announcement.

Ideally we would have a system that let attendees in based on the value they receive from the meetup. Although we as Rubyists could create a meritocratic ticketing system, or close attendance to request and invite only.

Instead RSVPs will be initially caped below capacity, Those interested in attending who do not RSVP in time to make the initial cut should join the waiting list. The waiting list will be automatically managed until noon the day before the meetup when the waiting list exceeds the full host capacity priority will be given to members who show strong impassioned interest in the Topic, show Topic domain expertise or professional exposure, participate in Topic planning or development, or successfully bribe the easily corruptible organizers.
