For all my people who can't make it downtown on a weeknight but would love to meet up with other Russians. Let's plan something in White Plains maybe

Too short of a notice... Would like to meet people living north of Manhattan. Some other day now, I guess

There are lots of fruit farms, too many to list. You can try pickyourown.org for farm listings. My personal favorite is Lawrence Farm in Newburgh because they offer almost every fruit and vegetable that can grow in our area including gooseberries and red currants which I am sure many people who grew up in Russia would enjoy. And they taste great, too!

Gah, I've been feeling this. We need to revive the Westchester Russian community. I've been looking for a bar in White Plains to meet once a month like this group but so far either too lazy or too busy :)
Fruit picking sounds awesome. Anyone know where you can pick your own blueberries?

Maybe everyone interested should suggest a specific activity and then we can hold a vote. Can steal ideas from other meetups - they always seem to find something to do - events, hikes, fruit picking etc...

Agree 100%. That's why we moved out here. But westchester Russians seem to be anti social
Going to restaurants is more typical of Brighton Beach culture. There are many other activities available both in and out of the woods.
I think the woods are the reason why we are having difficulty assembling a group. Our people like restaurants u know
Yes, too bad, everybody usually go to NY for fun! We have much better offerings for outdoor activities in this side of the woods though.
Yeah. Westchester Russian community is pretty dormant. It's really sad.
Exactly! There is Russian Westchester meetup though, but it's not really active.
Good idea! May be even better to make separated meetup. A lot of Russians live around
Anywhere in Westchester is fine.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
