3rd Kulture Kids In Transit free reading series

3rd Kulture Kids (www.3rdkulturekids.com) is a theatre and film production company dedicated to new work created by the lost citizens of the World. Us!!

Its first event is a play reading series introducing three new plays. Three plays, three destinations, three fantastic writers on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of April. Come in early to ensure seating, first come first served!

The event is FREE, in a fantastic Jazz bar on 52nd Street, drinks will be half price and there will be jazz music following the reading.

Most people at the reading (artists included) will be fellow TCKs. This seems like the perfect TCK meetup to me!

8th of April: Fake Chinaman In Rehab by Daniel York, directed by Ron Nakahara.

15th of April: The Derry Slope Off by Jack Gilhooley, directed by Blake Walton.

22nd of April: Holy Land by Mohamed Kacimi, translated by Chantal Bilodeau and directed by Tracy Cameron Francis.

Don't miss out tomorrow's reading: the last of our series! A powerful, provocative and humorous piece featuring TCKs. One of them very involved in the community, recently co-presented a plenary with Ruth Van Reken at a conference of third culture kids and professionals who work with them in Maryland.

Holy Land by Mohamed Kacimi, translated by Chantal Bilodeau:

A city under siege. The landscape is white, dusty and devastated. The only hope resides in Jesus: the cat. A dark and humorous story of 5 characters hanging on to the banality of day-to-day life, at times to the point of insanity, as a way to transcend the atrocities of war.

Doors open 6:30, reading at 7. Hope to see you there!

Hi everyone! I am a journalism student at NYU writing about the TCK experience. Would anyone mind me interviewing them during this event, or sometime after? Thank you!

Unfortunately, I have class on Monday nights so I will not be able to attend. Hopefully those of you who are attending will set up a way to find each other there.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
