What has been the most challenging aspect of your TCK/CCK experience?

Never feeling like I fit in anywhere, not being able to find people who understand me, having to make new friends every couple years.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of your TCK/CCK experience?

I think being a TCK has made me think about my priorities and what really matters in life. Experiencing different cultures has helped me see life from different points of view.

When did you become aware that you were a TCK/CCK?

I went to an international school, so it was something I always knew, but I didn't start to think about it until high school art class. The IB examiners love to hear about identity!

Hi! My name is Monica, and I'm a TCK living in NYC since Sept 2008. I'm half American, half Mexican, and grew up in Austria, but my professional focus is on the Middle East. I'm looking to meet other people with diverse backgrounds!
