This is a group for Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and Cross Culture Kids (CCKs) in the New York City area.
The goal of this group is to build a TCK/CCK community in one of the most international cities in the world. It hopes to become a space to share our stories, celebrate our global identities, discuss our experiences of growing up between worlds, meet new people, and have some fun.
-- What is a Third Culture Kid?
An individual who, having spent a significant part of the developmental years in a culture other than their parents’ cultures, develops a sense of relationship to all of the cultures while not having full ownership in any. Elements from each culture are incorporated into their life experiences, but their sense of belonging is in relation to others of similar experience. -- David C. Pollock
-- What is a Cross Culture Kid?
A person who has lived in—or meaningfully interacted with—two or more cultural environments for a significant period of time during developmental years. - Ruth E. Van Reken
