NYC Vegans was started by Daphne Cheng on March 15, 2011. On Oct. 15, 2012, after 19 fantastic months of her leadership, she stepped down. I am now organizing the group.
Thanks to Daphne for all her excellent work! Below is Daphne's original group description. New York has so many excellent vegan / vegetarian restaurants and resources. I look forward to builiding on Daphne's legacy of success, with excellent events for NYC Vegans.
Don't hate us because we're vegan! Hate us because we taste good, look good, feel good, and embody compassion. Be us :)
Join our crusade to vegucate New York City and turn it into the kindest, greenest, and tastiest place on the planet!
If you’re not already riding the vegan wave, NYC Goes Vegan will help you channel your inner Ghandi and get down on plant based yumminess. We are here to support you in wherever you are on your dietary journey through screenings, dinner outings, biz networking mixalots, potlucks, multi-course meal extravaganzas by way of Vérité Catering, and sacrificial seances (we haven't done this one yet, Anna Wintour)
Exchange ideas. Make friends. Find the vegan love of your life. Rally and protest for animals.
No matter what, your body and your spirit will thank you for going vegan. The animals will
thank you. The planet too. Eat, drink and be vegan!!!
Get green or die trying
We had 46 Challengers that participated in the 21-Day-Vegan-Challenge complete the challenge on Weds March 16th, 2011
