A query language workshop to compare Neo4j's Cypher language with Sparql, SQL and other query approaches. The workshop will follow a progressive koan approach of problem solving.
Cypher is a declarative SQL-like query language that uses pattern matching for querying a graph.
Spaqrl is similar, and popular for semantic-web applications.
SQL is SQL.

Andreas is upstairs; he has the list but can't leave the conference room without it locking behind him. List also at http://t.co/nEAxUP69![]()

If someone could call security for us -- we're RSVPed -- that would be excellent.

Thanks to our friends at VMWare, we've got a location for the workshop at the EMC offices at 2 Penn Plaza, on the 18th floor.
*Important* We will need full names of every person who is RSVP'd for a checklist with the building's security to get in. If your meetup identity doesn't match your first and last name at the building, you won't be able to get in. Please contact the organizers with your details before the meeting. Thanks.

I would suggest to talk with the guys at Meetup. They allow use of their space to various meetups.

This will be a workshop-oriented meetup, so preferably a space with tables for up to 38 people would be ideal. Got something in mind?

Hey, So the venue I had been talking to for next week has not worked out. Does anyone know of a good location for hosting the workshop?

Good suggestions David. It's helpful to compare with other approaches.

Try to connect with how other languages, such as Python, which has bindings for it. Mention also SPARQL, the query language for the Semantic Web, a graph. ConceptNet from MIT is also a graph and may have a similar way of querying.
