Using MongoDB PRESENTED BY Ian of 10gen

Hey everyone, hang in there, the semester is nearly over! Come take a break from finals studying this Friday for our last HackDay of the year. Ian from 10gen will be presenting MongoDB.

MongoDB (from "humongous") is a scalable, high-performance, open source NoSQL database.

MongoDB is a NoSQL database, which means that instead of storing data in tables and columns like a relational database, MongoDB stores data in JSON-like documents. It's a really flexible way to store data and offers a lot of features that relational databases don't.

You can download MongoDB at http://www.mongodb.org/ but Ian will go through the whole process of using it, starting from installation.

See you all there!
