NYLUG Workshop / Hacking Society

The coordinators will be teaching and showing off hardware hacking, simple DIY electronics projects, and programming tutorials. We will also help newcomers to Linux learn the ropes of getting around.

Bring something to discuss! We've been focusing on LaTeX, Python, Smalltalk, and using Linux, but were open to anything. There's a blackboard, chalk, and Internet access.  Notebook computers are helpful but not required. Bring books! Bring hardware! Bring software! Bring friends! All levels of experience from totally new to experienced welcome!

After workshops, the coordinators go out for dinner and/or drinks nearby. Feel free to join us for some lively dinner conversations!

It is helpful, but not necessary to have a notebook computer. If you would like to work on hardware hacking or electronics, feel free to bring equipment. There's WiFi in the library for your convenience.

Thinking about bringing Panasonic model KX-TG4000B I salvaged from a garbage bin, I have pretty much disassembled everything that possibly be disassembled. Looking for some help understanding what makes a tick and possibly creating something new out of the parts? should I bring any tools?
