NYLUG Workshop / Hacking Society

The coordinators will be teaching and showing off hardware hacking, simple DIY electronics projects, and programming tutorials. We will also help newcomers to Linux learn the ropes of getting around.

Bring something to discuss! We've been focusing on LaTeX, Python, Smalltalk, and using Linux, but were open to anything. There's a blackboard, chalk, and Internet access.  Notebook computers are helpful but not required. Bring books! Bring hardware! Bring software! Bring friends! All levels of experience from totally new to experienced welcome!

After workshops, the coordinators go out for dinner at Out of the Kitchen, located at 420 Hudson Street, just down the block from the library. Feel free to join us for some lively dinner conversations!

It is helpful, but not necessary to have a notebook computer. If you would like to work on hardware hacking or electronics, feel free to bring equipment. There's WiFi in the library for your convenience.

Not too bad. After we got the flaky wireless mechanism to stop being flaky.

When does the library close on Tues?

I am considering 7pm-9pm Tues slot for a venue for
the monthly OSS CMS Drupal Meetup: http://drupal.meetup.com/9

I would gladly combine this with the hackathon group,
    but that is strictly optional.

This will be the last workshop of this year. We will be back on January 15th with all new topics and projects.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
