Many of you take the NYC subways everyday but did you know the history behind one of the world's largest underground transportation systems? Join us for this fun afternoon adventure where you will travel a special route that will bring you past ghost stations, secrets of the past, subway artwork and through the histories of the old Penn Station and Grand Central. We will also have the opportunity to ride through the now abandoned City Hall Station, site of the first subway trip in 1904. Along the way your guide will share the history of rail transportation in the city as well as show you amazing photo's from the past.
This tour is not for tourists and will have dozens of people from The New York Social Network and our partner groups. It is a great way to socialized and learn about the city you live in.
You will meet the group at Amigo's Restaurant on 112th and Broadway. Enjoy a pre-tour cocktail or nibble then we will set out on a journey that will bring us down the west side across to the east side downtown and back up to grand Central where we will finish the tour.
Wear comfortable shoes. 98% of this tour will take place underground so we go rain or shine.
