We are holding our first ever event focused on the merging of the fashion industry with software technologies. Representatives from Parsons School of Design, Rent the Runway, and Michael O'Brien, Tech Manager for Style.com will be presenting from Conde Nast.

2 questions:
- where EXACTLY within FIT will the event be held?
- Have you invited Dr. Sabine Seymour?

Apostolis I feel your pain. And if I had to guess, software was up at 6am bright and early but fashion is nursing a hangover and will roll out of bed by 2. So I'm still hopeful.

Dalia Strum of the FIT is working with us and thus the date for this event is now June 4 and the venue if the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Caveat: The date hasn't been approved yet by FIT but it is in their system, so lets all hope for the best. Thanks to Dalia for the help over there getting it through so quick.
Dalia is also inviting our members to an event around the uses of social media to facilitate conversation on Monday, May 6 if anyone is interested go here: http://bestusesofsocialmedia.ev...![]()
Thanks everyone for their patience, if you need to update your RSVP please do so.

Thursday is better for me. It's not easy to book a venue. Who else here has tried?

It's peculiar that we share an acronym with New York Stock Exchange. I believe it's still called that since they try to get bought out now and again.

These are not your typical software engineering events.
Our events cover topics related to software engineering along with business but aim to change the perspective of those who attend. Our focus is on emerging technologies such as Big Data, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Nanotechnology, 3D printing, Machine Learning, MapReduce, Semantic Web technologies, alongside more traditional topics like Ruby on Rails, HTML5, PHP, node.js, and Python.
We reach out to the entire New York metropolitan area for experts from all languages and walks of life as possible speakers in panels and even debates between different languages, IDE's, marketing strategies and more. Our events will either consist of speakers, panels, debates, or trainings.
Our networking mixers will combine premier engineers with venture capitalists in an attempt to facilitate the creation of new companies in an around the New York region.
Job Fairs we hold incorporate the best tech companies in New York with the best engineers.
There is a deep Silicon Valley connection with this group because of our sister group Bay Area Software Engineers in the San Francisco Bay Area so occasionally speakers from the very heart of Silicon Valley will fly out to New York to speak at our events.
We are embracing the future and hope you will join us.
