Panel Title: Beyond Pre-Roll: What's Next for Online Video Advertising?
As online video advertising evolves in the coming months and years, technologies and business models will naturally extend beyond those in practice today. New means of creating ad revenue are on the horizon from options like sponsorships in the form of product placement and brand "overlays," pre-roll teasers that encourage post-roll clicks and more effective use of in-banner video. This discussion will focus on how these new business models and ad formats can be applied and we will also discuss if anyone is making money with online video advertising and the going CPM rate for video ads.
The Panelists:
1. NBCU - Kevin J. McGurn, VP, Advertising. Kevin leads the national advertising sales and media business at NBBC; NBC's video syndication and monetization portal that is being rolled into the new NBC-News Corp joint venture.
2. OMD - Jeff Minsky, Director of Digital Media. OMD, the world's largest media buyer, buys and places online video ads for mammoth brands such as McDonalds, Sony and GE. Jeff is a guy you want to know.
3. DoubleClick - Robert Victor, Product Manager, Emerging Media. DoubleClick has been on the forefront of online advertising for years and was recently acquired by Google for $3.1 Billion.
4. ScanScout - Jed Savage, EVP, Strategy and Development. ScanScout is one of the most innovative new companies in online video advertising.
