Amazing stuff. I don't know why, but, as I was walking home from the event, I felt this weird compulsion to take my headphones off and randomly put them on other people's heads. Yeah, I got punched in the face several times, but it was totally worth it.
i couldnt make it sadly, anyone have a link to video of the meetup?
Kimberly, we'll have it posted on www.NYVideo.org but in the meantime you can catch it on www.livestream.com/nyvideo. It was an amazing night! Thank you to everyone who was involved. See you all on July 28th for the next meetup.
Funny how the crowd went for the Interlude idea, and the judges for the Sunday Sky. Both of them were very cool nonetheless.
That's because Interlude had a great demo while Sunday Sky has a great business.
Speaking as one of the judges on the panel here are my two cents: We felt Sunday Sky has a well thought out business model (unique technology and clear target market), albeit some concerns about scalability. No doubt Interlude won on the cool-ness front. Though a clear business model was not apparant, all they would need is a single big hit to get off the ground!
As much as I loved the Interlude demo (and the Zionist in me rooted for Israel), I did not see a big idea... cool implementation but no new technology (or business). I liked (and voted for) the SundaySky demo since if it really is dynamic, on-the-fly and automated like the say it is, it really is a big idea and there's a very clear need. However personally I am not convinced that the audio narration is automated, it sounded like it was production-grade material, which beats the purpose.
