Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year!
We hope you had an amazing holiday break! We are very excited for 2012 and all of the new and innovative things happening in the video world and we hope you are too! We hand-picked some very interesting companies this month to demo their products/services and we think you are really going to enjoy their presentations.
As always, we will have free pizza and beer, so get your ticket asap! Presenters are listed below.
See you soon.
January Presenters:
Sharethrough
Dave Ford works in sales and marketing strategy for Sharethrough. Sharethrough, is the first ad tech company built exclusively for brand video content and "native advertising." Sharethrough enables publishers to generate new revenue through non-interruptive, "native" ad placements and original brand video content, such as short fims, webisodes and music videos. Before Sharethrough, Dave was an emerging media consultant specializing in introducing branded content opportunities and emerging technologies to fortune 500 brands. Sharethrough's CEO Dan Greenberg was recently named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list.
Landline TV
CEO, Jared Neumark, will talk about the challenges of 24 hour high production value video and the potential benefits to being that timely. He will also demo some of their independently produced sketches and give us a look inside their New York-based production company that specializes in comedy. Landline has been written up in a number of major blogs and media outlets, being called “brilliant” (Andrew Sullivan), “well-done satire” (Washington Post), “smart, witty” (CNBC), and “pants-wettingly funny” (Huffington Post). In May 2009, Wired named Landline TV as one of seven “Webotainers Worth Watching”. Landline’s creative team also develops content for web serials, television and film, as well as offering professional services for branded content and advertising.
Mobcaster
Co-Founders, Aubrey Levy and Sander Kooijman, will discuss their website, mobcaster.com, the first-ever crowd-funded television channel who helps independent TV creators take their show concepts directly out to market, giving the audience, as opposed to network or studio executives, the ability to decide which shows end up on their screens. If viewers like a show, they can fund it, and those shows with sufficient support to reach their funding goals, get made and broadcast on Mobcaster TV (online channel). It creates the first and only independent market for TV shows.
Attend LLC
Chuck Storman, CEO, and Mike Bittle, COO, will be demo their MediaCloud service which makes storage, secure file sharing, proxy transcoding, team & client review, online screening/streaming and publication of large media files effortless on mobile, tablet or private webpages all within a collaborative and secure environment. Chuck Storman will also be giving away 5 copies of his book, "Start Fast! Accelerate Your Software, Internet or Mobile Startup" (www.startfast.net).

I very much enjoyed it . . . you could actually socialize and meet people. Three of the four presentations were excellent. Steve Rosenbaum is a very effective moderator. Only wish they had gotten sound right for the presentations.

Yet another fun and informative NY Video MeetUp last night.
Good presenters, good people plus beer and pizza. On top of that I won a book during the drawing. Not a bad night at all.
