  • Hey MoonShadow! Great hiking with you too! We missed you at dinner! Yes, I rode 3300 miles from Seattle to DC. Did it in 41 days and camped out the whole way. Hence, my affinity toward long treks such as the AT:). When are you hiking again? Loved picking your brain about the AT and will certainly tell you about my long ride:). I'm doing Shining Rock wilderness next weekend. Are you ever up for an overnight on the AT??? I'm dying to do that soon.

  • Hi Leanna, in response to your question on night paddling, the USCG requires that boats our general size be equipped (carry and used when needed) a white light. Red & Green lights will communicate to another boat that they are seeing either the port or starboard and act accordingly, so it is far safer to simply have a white light.

Hopefully, this helps your decision process on lights for night paddling!

  • Hi Leanna, welcome to the group. If you are still looking for a paddle, I have a new AT 215 cm straight shaft paddle that I bought as a backup that I want to sell cheap. I am switching over to all bent shaft ones.
