Hi Ching ... is the Newcomer's Hiking presentation not happening at REI? I got something saying it needs a location. Or am I reading this wrong. We could always have it at your house!! (haha)

Hi Ching! Some individual members might be interested, but you're right, the group doesn't have a specific focus on the outdoors. My guess is most of the folks interested in that are probably already members of the hiking, biking, or outdoor groups.
