This Meetup group is for those of us who love to hike with our dogs. We seek out the best dog-friendly trails in Oakland and nearby cities. We meet in small groups and our goal is fun for our dogs in a safe and friendly group. Our canine membership is very diverse ranging from a 6 pound Mini to a 180 pound Great Dane. We have a variety of breeds and mixes with all kinds of backgrounds. Dogs are social creatures just like their humans and the group interaction on our hikes is great for the dog's social development.

Bring your dog and let them enjoy a good run, a redwood forest, a sandy beach and all the places dogs are nuts about. We have both weekend and evening hikes ranging in 3-7miles. Hikes vary from easy to strenuous and the goal is to enjoy our hikes and dogs in the company of other dog lovers. Last summer our group experimented with some very successful dog inclusive camping and backpacking trips.

With respect for our trails and fellow trail users, hikes in this group are kept to small sizes (6-8 hikers).
