Dear http://Meetup.com/OC-...
As is wisely the default setting for Meetup groups, on your http://www.meetup.com... This will allow ordinary members (me, and 589 more) to be able to suggest Meetup events which then the other members can vote for via their RSVPs. While still preserving your full control (to say cancel or reschedule or edit the event) as the Head Organizer. As mentioned, this is the wise default setting on Meetup, as it allows notably greater participation by members including for the group to be able to run itself somewhat even when all group leader(s) are unreachable. It also can significantly help reduce the burden on group leaders to list all the events. Indeed, on quick look, OC-PHP is one of the only groups I can think of (in the about 20 I a member of) which does not allow this, and I can see no benefit to not doing this. Indeed I think I have mentioned this to you before, as the present unusually-restrictive setting has prevented me from quickly sharing (at least on the site) events I ran across quite relating to OC-PHP, including yet another one now again that I want to share on the calendar but can't, why I then post this request here. Thanks for your attention to this. Looking forward to your reply. |
