Device control with Delphi

Masoud Nasro is a new member of our group, having just come to the area.  Nevertheless, he has been using Delphi since 1995 (just in case any of you feared that we may have accidentally allowed a spring chicken into our midst).

Masoud develops data acquisition and control systems for "bolt load measurement," which means that he must make Delphi converse with external devices, currently via the USB interface.

In Masoud's own words:

I use Delphi to make a product for Fastener Testing. This is an engineering application which collects data form Torque and Load sensors using Strain gages and ultrasonics. Delphi interfaces with the data acquisition hardware through USB port on the PC. I will demonstrate what type of information is gathered, displayed and analyzed when a bolt is tightened in a joint. This information is very useful in Automotive and Aero Space industry in design and debugging the bolted joints.

He has graciously agreed to talk about what he does, and it's an interesting niche in Delphi that we haven't much explored.   We hope you'll join us.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
